Dr. David Stoker board-certified plastic surgeon with our beautiful 30-year-old patient. She's 13 months out, so just over one year from 360-degree liposculpture with a spectacular outcome. We treated her abdomen with tiny little axis incisions hidden in the belly button. We did the inner thighs with tiny little access incisions, which are no longer visible at all. The inner thighs are looking gorgeous; nice separation, no undesirable curves. We shaved down her lateral thigh, so the little bulges are greatly diminished but, we retained her curves. You can see that we brought in her waist big time. The hips and flanks are much tighter waist, which accentuates the curves of her bottom. She's got a beautiful, nice, curvy shape. As a body contouring specialist, one of the procedures I am best known for is liposuction. While there are many plastic surgeons in the Los Angeles area and Santa Monica, liposuction requires advanced medical and surgical knowledge to perform safely. Artistic vision and skilled hands are necessary to sculpt beautifully. My experience combining the art and science of liposuction for thousands of cases allows me to consistently achieve beautiful results for my patients. How is liposuction performed? I typically perform liposuction as an outpatient procedure using local anesthesia, twilight sedation, or a “light” general anesthesia administered by a board-certified M.D. anesthesiologist. The choice of anesthesia depends on the size and number of areas being treated and patient preference. I begin the procedure by infusing tumescent solution, which contains lidocaine (a local anesthetic), adrenaline, and saline, into the fatty tissues. It numbs the area, minimizes bleeding, and makes the tissues firm for easier fat removal. Through tiny incisions in the skin, I remove the fat using small suction tubes (known as cannulas). The key concept with the liposuction procedures I perform is that fat is selectively removed because it is more loosely attached to the body.
