This programme is designed to give you a broad knowledge and understanding of the Construction Industry and to provide you with the technical skills training to achieve a level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating. Entry Requirements You must be working at Level 1 or above in Maths and English, demonstrate commitment and motivation and be willing to study theoretical and practical components of the course. You will be required to take the CITB assessment paper to evaluate your ability to read and understand construction drawings. What does the course involve? Vocational Units (All units are mandatory): Carry out safe working practices in construction; Information, quantities & communicating with others; Building methods & construction technology; Erect and dismantle access equipment and working platforms; Preparation of surfaces (1); Apply paint by brush and roller (1); Apply wallpapers (1); Specialist decorative finishes (1); Additional Study- Functional Skills in English and Maths and Tutorial. How is the course assessed? Your work will continually be assessed throughout the course with each unit having a practical and theoretical assessment task. In addition, you will be required to pass an end of year exam in order to successfully achieve the Diploma. How much does it cost? You must provide your own overalls, safety shoes, tools, classroom equipment and contribute to the cost of any additional enrichment activities.
