England made 376 in their first innings and, having been dismissed for 143, the West Indies followed on and at the start of this Grandstand highlights package they were batting again with Seymour Nurse and Steve Camacho. D'Oliveira 25 Rohan Khanhai c John Edrich b Jones 36 Clive Lloyd b Brown 7 Basil Butcher c. Jim Parks b.D'Oliveira 25 Gary Sobers and David Holford were batting when the crowd rioted and threw bottles onto the outfield as Cowdrey and Sobers asked them to stop. The police and riot squad walked to the crowd as the players picked up the bottles.Tear gas was fired into the crowd. An extra day was added, Sobers went on to score 113 and the match ended as a draw with England on 68-8.
