In this special, one-off garden tour, my garden-designer neighbour and friend, Wendy, takes us on a journey into her multi-level, terraced garden to show how even the most challenging spaces can be transformed into an eden of beauty and tranquility. We also have a conversation about an intrepid solo trip that Wendy is planning for herself and she generously shares her personal life philosophy with us. For me, this garden is a metaphor for the richness of life still available to us, as well as a testament to the character, determination and wisdom of the older woman, the true Rare Bird.
