♡ Hi my loves ♡ I posted this on my Instagram @6ia.re a week ago, but I recognise that actually, that's not a platform accessible by all. And this is an issue that needs to be seen, discussed and fought for by all. This is a contribution, for my black community, to further let it be heard in every corner that !! B L A C K L I V E S M A T T E R !! Below, is the original caption from the Instagram post. ------------------------------ Our brothers and sisters are targeted, sOur brothers and sisters are targeted, scared and dying for nothing. I know this feels bigger than you. It hits so close to home yet feels too far away for your voice to be heard or make any difference. At least, that’s how I have felt, while scrolling through my socials in recent times. I suppose ALL WE CAN DO IS WHAT WE CAN. Whether that’s marching in demand of justice or spreading awareness by simply turning to the person next to you and talking about it. One thing’s for certain, silence does nothing. I want to reiterate, “BLACK LIVES MATTER”, does not detract from all lives being of equal importance, or as some people like to say “All lives Matter”. The slogan is born from black lives seeming to mean LESS THAN others, and represents our fight for our lives to become as respected and cared for as much as everyone else’s, so that "All Lives Matter" can actually feel closer to being true. Educate yourself. Do what you can. Don’t feel guilty if it feels like comparatively little. It’s SOMETHING. And as we say in Jamaica “Every mickle makes a muckle” ..In other words, a lot of little somethings can make a big something. Don’t give in to feeling powerless. You are not alone.
