What should artists look for in pens and inks? If you are new to line and wash, or starting out on one of the month challenges like Inktober, then the choice of ink and pens can be confusing. Go onto one of the big pen websites or into your local art shop and you will be faced with a huge choice. Can you use a biro/ball point pen or do you need to buy something really expensive? And what inks will run and bleed, or stay put?? I am here to help simplify it all! First we will look at inks - what are the three key things to consider? Then pens - what are the types and the advantages of each? Finally, I will show you what the pens and inks look like when you use them... now over to you!
