(RIAT 2024) Spanish Navy Mcdonnell Douglas AV-8B Matador Harrier flying display

This was flying as part of NATO's 75th Anniversary. The Mcdonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II was a joint project between the US and the UK to provide a new gen version of the Harrier. The Harrier is equipped with APG-65 multi mode radar giving the aircraft the ability to carry AIM-120 missiles. It is also has vertical take off and landing capabilities known as VTOL and can also do so using vectored thrust. The Spanish Harrier's originally entered service in the late 1980's as EAV-8B Matador II and then upgraded to the EAV-8B+ standard from the mid 1990's onwards. The Spanish Navy currently operates the Harrier's at Rota air base which is operated by the 9 Escuadrilla. Apologies for any shakiness during parts of the video.
