One of my most anticipated movies of 2025 is here and SINNERS did not disappoint! Was fortunate enough to see Ryan Coogler and Michael B Jordan (x2) latest collaboration a little early and in IMAX (definitely the way to go, so much was shot IN and FOR IMAX, the emotional weight and beauty of the scope / frame change, cannot be overstated. After Fruitvale Station, Creed, and both Black Panther films the stakes were high so how does Coogler's latest fare? How was Michael B Jordan opposite Michael B Jordan? How did newcomer Miles Catton do? Does Delroy Lindo steal every scene he's in? Is Jack O'Connell finally going to be a household name? Is Jayme Lawson as Mesmeric as she was in The Batman? Set in the 1930s in Southern United States, the film stars Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as twin brothers who return to their hometown but are faced with a greater evil.[4] The film also features Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O'Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, Li Jun Li, and Delroy Lindo. Coogler began developing the genre film through his production company Proximity Media by January 2024, when Jordan was cast. Warner Bros. Pictures acquired distribution rights the next month following a bidding war, and casting for additional roles took place in April, ahead of the start of filming that month. Filming wrapped in July 2024.
