We survived two nights completely surrounded by golden jackals in the Sahara Desert. The pack circled our camp from dusk to dawn — we used an ancient Amazigh Berber technique: a ring of fire around the entire camp to keep them back. But survival isn't just about the night. When morning came and the jackals finally retreated, Fatima cooked a traditional Berber tagine over desert coals — preserved lamb, chickpeas, dried apricots and saffron from our supplies. After two sleepless nights, that meal was everything. This is real nomadic life in the Sahara. No hotels. No safety net. Just Hassan, Fatima, the camel, and 60 years of desert knowledge. 🔥 What you'll see in this video: → A pack of 20+ golden jackals surrounding our fire ring → The ancient Berber fire circle defense technique → Fatima cooking traditional tagine over desert coals → What real survival looks like in 52°C heat 📍 Filmed in Erg Chebbi, Merzouga — Moroccan Sahara Desert ⏱️ Chapters: 00:00 The first night — the jackals arrive 01:00 Building the fire ring 02:30 Surrounded — the full attack 04:00 Dawn — the jackals retreat 06:40 The fire, the coals, the cooking If you're new here — Hassan and Fatima are Amazigh Berber nomads who have lived in the Moroccan Sahara for their entire lives.
