MIDImorphosis 2 - iOS CoreAudio interfaces to connect your guitar

MIDImorphosis is an iOS app that can transcribe tablature directly from your guitar or bass playing. Just play the notes, and the app will detect the pitch of each note, placing it on the tab. If you figure out a riff from your favorite song, or come up with something on your own, you can capture it, instead of having to figure it out again from scratch a few days later. The app has a full featured tab editor, so you can easily clean up any missed notes. With full support for MIDI and an internal synthesizer, you can use the app as a MIDI controller for both hardware and software synths. With any pitch-to-MIDI approach, there's a little bit of latency -- it takes time to determine the pitch of a note correctly, and for fast and rhythmic guitar lines, that lag can throw off the performance. We've worked around this with an innovative approach -- get the notes right in the tablature, and then use an on-screen button to trigger the notes for a zero-latency playback. Record the outgoing MIDI into your DAW, and you've got a note-perfect take with exactly the timing you want. MIDImorphosis detects a single note at a time, but you can construct chords with the tab editor. The app works best with a CoreAudio interface, and an instrument that is in tune.
