House of Abhinandan Lodha has promoted a villa plot project called Foothills of Matheran, which is registered on MahaRERA by that name. The project is also being marketed as Celebration Land. Villa plots upwards of 1000 to 1200 square feet are being marketed at prices upwards of Rs 20 lakhs. The project websites make extravagant promises of appreciation to attract investors, and they also promise extraordinary recreation facilities such as swimming pool and clubhouse. However, a plain reading of the proforma agreement uploaded on MahaRERA website reveals that all is not well, and that investment in "Foothills of Matheran" can prove extremely treacherous. Hidden within the clauses of the agreement are dangers that plot buyers may never anticipate. The public is warned to stay away from such projects, where the builder, his employees and his associates are enabled by legal loopholes to misinform and deceive the buying public.
