In ICAP’s New Education Scheme 2025, CAF now features a newly introduced subject — Data System & Risk. CAF 3 What is Data? Data = raw facts, figures, or observations without meaning. When processed → becomes Information. Example: Raw ages (25, 30, 28…) → Info: "Average age = 29 years." Types of Data Qualitative (Categorical) Data 🏷️ Nominal: Labels only (e.g., Gender, Colors, Cities). Ordinal: Categories with order but unequal intervals (e.g., Education Levels, Satisfaction Ratings). Quantitative (Numerical) Data 🔢 Discrete: Countable (e.g., No. of students = 40). Continuous: Measurable (e.g., Height = 5.8 ft, Temp = 36.5°C). Data by Structure Structured Data 📊 – Organized in rows/columns (e.g., sales records, bank transactions). Unstructured Data 🖼️ – No fixed format (e.g., emails, social media posts, videos). Semi-Structured Data ⚙️ – Mix of both, with tags/markers (e.g., JSON, XML, log files, sensor data). Data Sources Primary Data (first-hand): Surveys, medical tests, RFID scans, ATM transactions. Secondary Data (pre-collected): Govt. reports, research articles, newspapers, financial analysis.
