KAYRA”NIN YOLCULUĞU – KAIRA’S JOURNEY… ‘’Kayra’nın Yolculuğu’’ isimli yeni çalışmamı sizinle paylaşıyorum. Bu şimdiye kadar yaptıklarımdan biraz farklı oldu. Müziği arka plana alarak, hikayeyi müziğin üstüne anlattı Nilgün Özer. Video klip hazırlarken Kuzey Işıklarıyla ilgili video imajları kullandım; hikayeyi daha iyi hissedeceğinizi umarak. Biz yaparken keyifle yaptık, umarım beğenirsiniz… “Kayra’s dream” is my latest musical work. First, I’ve composed and recorded the music according to the story in my mind and asked Ms. Nilgun Ozer who lives in Germany to be the Story Teller. I think she did such a great job on this. It is in Turkish, therefore I tried to make English translation as close as possible for you to understand the story and feel the emotion of it.. I also used Northern Lights video clips as the background images while preparing my own clip in order to give you the freedom of dreaming and living the story. Hope you enjoy it. Kaira's Journey: On one side of the long and winding road was the vibrancy of spring, while on the other side lay the barren land of a desert covered with sand. As Kaira swiftly pedaled forward on her bicycle, wild white horses on the other side of the road kicked up dust as they traveled in the same direction. The sky was covered with a deep blue blanket, and the scattered pure white clouds reminded Kaira of cotton candies, which she dearly loved. As Kaira was continuing on her journey with peace and happiness, the wind was hitting her face and tousling her long hair, but she didn’t mind it. The joy and excitement within her were inexpressible. She was feeling her freedom with every turn of the pedal. At the end of the road, Kaira encountered an endless sea at the edge of a giant cliff. It was as if this place was the point where the sea and the sky met. She stood still, unable to move, unable to believe what she was seeing. She felt that her heart would burst out of her chest.(58) And in that very moment when time seemed to stop, all emotions, journeys, and everything in life seemed intertwined. Sky high pure white waves seemed to reach Kaira, to touch her. The sound of the wind was mixed with the sound of struggling waves. The horses on the other side of the road, had also come to the seaside, standing like white marble statues. Only their manes were fluttering in the wind. All of sudden, without realizing how, Kaira found herself on top of one of them, as if by a magical hand. She whispered to the horse's ear: "Let's go," she said, "forward, into the unknown." (35) The horse nodded slowly, reared up, and began to gallop as if flying. Kaira's physical journey had ended; and her journey to understand the meaning of life had just begun. Her eyes were closed, but with every passing second, she felt herself aging. The excitement within her, the sound of her horse's hooves pounding, and the thrill of heading into the unknown had composed the most beautiful symphony of the world. Her hair shining under the golden rays of the sun was dancing with the mane of the wild white horse, and every cell of her body was trembling with excitement. Kaira distanced herself from the past and the future; she immersed herself in the moment and began to question the true meaning of life. What was life really? Why were we here in this world? Was life the eternal embrace of birth and death, the meaning given to each other by the past and the future? Or was it the countless contradictions of the world we lived in? Was it the beautiful poems about love and separation written by her friend Omer, or the deep sorrows felt by the next door girl Esra for her recently deceased cat? Perhaps it was the street musician pouring his heart out in melodies for parted lovers, applauded by listeners with admiration but also a hint of melancholy. Or maybe were we just a part of a beautiful music called life, which, like everything else, had to come to an end when its time came? Kaira slowly opened her eyes. Her mother was sitting at the edge of her bed. She held her hands, stroked her hair, and kissed her forehead. "Good morning, my dearest daughter," she said, "breakfast is ready..."
