Hi! We’re Matt and Ché (pronounced “Shay”) and we’re currently travelling around Australia in our BT50 and roof top tent. If you haven’t seen our very first video, we left on our lap in a rush and much poorer than we’d planned to, so our awning was a last-minute budget buy until we could upgrade to our current 270 over 9 months later. In those 9 months we travelled from Perth to southeast Queensland, through the remote and harsh top end of Australia, including the notorious Gibb River Road. We experienced heavy unseasonal rains that closed the Gibb for weeks, typical 40+ degree days in the North West and NT sun, and camped regularly on the coast exposed to strong winds. With only a roof top tent to retreat to, our awning was depended on, tested and used just about daily. Of the budget awnings on the market the Dune awning was the best choice for us based on availability (there was an Anaconda around the corner from our home), price (their regular club specials are great) and feedback from other owners. This video covers everything we learnt while relying on this awning, and if you should do the same. Cheers!
