How To Crochet A Pineapple Patch | Stitch to Stitch Tutorial | Pineapple Series: Pattern 0 (Warm Up)

Hey guys! if you're interested in buying a bamboo crochet hook (3.5mm) , please consider checking this link: http://bit.ly/3I7nflZ (Note: This is an affiliate link, which means I'll be receiving a small commission from the purchase but it'll cost no extra charges for you, Thank you!) This video is a little warm-up pattern for this pineapple series that I’m starting from today. I started the series with this video to give a general idea of how the pineapple pattern is formed and progressed. When it comes to pineapple pattern a lot of crocheters especially newbies have a very hard time getting around it. I, myself is not an exception. I had a hard time getting it right and there may be dozens of cases where I messed up, redo it, and messed up again, so I know where you guys are coming from. That doing and redoing, again and again, made me realize a few mistakes that were very common and easy to make. There are three factors that you need to keep in mind when you make the pineapple pattern. Distance, Size, and Timing. Distance is crucial. When you work on doily based patterns, in rounds, sometimes it so happens that your work starts to fold in on itself. It happened a lot with me and the reason why it happens is because of the insufficient distance we put in between the pineapples. When we work in rounds we need to make sure that we are putting enough distance for the pattern to spread out evenly and easily. The distance can be made with clusters, shells, or different types of chains, you can even start a whole new pineapple in there but we’ll get to it in the later videos. The size and timing work along together. In some cases, you may notice that the stitches are smashed up into each other completely ruining the whole display of the pattern. Why does it happen? When you work on pineapple pattern you need to make sure your base is stable enough to hold the pattern. Sometimes we start the pattern to early in the work resulting in the stitches to meshed up also we need to consider the size of the pattern. If you’re planning on making a large pattern, start it later in the work. Give it at least a good eight to ten rounds base and progress slowly, making one increase at a time. No matter how much you want to you can never rush this pattern. These are the little mistakes I found in my work and by fixing them I got a great result. If it looks like too much to take in then don’t worry you’ll get it when we work on them. We will gradually progress and cover each and every mistake that we can find in our way. Also about this series, I’m planning on not keeping it limited to the round patterns, Yes, I’ll try different shapes which I’ve never done before so I hope I can do it right. I hope all this is somewhat helpful, for the next coming videos we will work on simple beginners' patterns and then we’ll move on to more complex patterns. Until then.
