Tongits is a three-player card game played with a standard 52-card deck where the goal is to be the first to get rid of all your cards or have the lowest points when the round ends. Each player is dealt 12 cards, except the dealer who gets 13 and starts the game by discarding one card to begin the discard pile. On each turn, a player draws a card either from the deck or the discard pile, then discards one card while trying to form melds (sets of the same rank like three 7s, or runs of the same suit like 4-5-6 of hearts). Players can also lay off cards on other players’ exposed melds if allowed. The round can end if a player empties their hand (“Tongits”), if a player calls a draw and no one challenges with a lower hand value, or if the deck runs out—then everyone counts the points of their remaining unmatched cards, and the player with the lowest total wins.
