The Enron Scandal | The Biggest Frauds in History

Hey everyone! Welcome to my channel and today I am going to talk about The Enron Story which has been one of the most highlighted cases in the USA, especially in California. Enron was one of the largest energy companies in the USA which faced a huge downfall and the energy loss is still making California suffer from an energy shortage. Yes! Enron was that big of a company. Before its bankruptcy in 2001, Enron employed approximately 29,000 staff and was a major electricity, natural gas, communications, and pulp and paper company, with claimed revenues of nearly $101 billion during 2000. At the end of 2001, it was revealed that Enron's reported financial condition was sustained by an institutionalized, systemic, and creatively planned accounting fraud, known since as the Enron scandal. The two main ringmasters were Kenneth Lay and Jeffrey Skilling. They both had a very interesting background that I have discussed in this video.
