This project was a labor of love. @NateBrightArt challenged us to recreate or reimagine an album cover for an artist that inspired us. My inspiration was drawn from my daughter who recently joined the band Bad Press. The just happened to record their first single "Complicated" this month. She has been my inspiration in so many ways - especially artistically. She is an incredibly talented, classically trained artist and is equally talented musically as a vocalist. She has taught me that willingness to learn and the effort you put into it are far greater than natural talent. There were 4 steps to this project. I started with a 12x12 canvas. First, I transferred images printed on an inkjet printer to a gel plate to make my own collage paper on wet strength tissue paper. Then I made a collage out of these papers on the canvas. Next, I did a sandwich pour with just pouring medium and a few drops of neon paint. Lastly, I made a stencil to apply the name of the band to my album cover. A huge shout out to @NateBrightArt ! Check out his channel for info on joining his Art Lab. It was the best thing I've done for myself in ages! I have been inspired by so many talented fluid artists. Here are just a few that have taught me so very much this past year. This project would not have been possible without watching hours of their content! (I know there are folks I've forgotten - I will start writing them down to make sure to include next time. @NateBrightArt @MinaVillegasArt @kellysferal @GinaDeLuca
