The Megalithic Monuments of Alcalar (Portuguese: Monumentos Megalíticas de Alcalar) are group of burial tombs, scattered megaliths, and a basic museum. The site comprises a Calcolithic necropolis and the settlement was first occupied between 7,000 - 6,000 years old, located in the civil parish of Mexilhoeira Grande, municipality of Portimão. I visited there in 2013 before heading north to Evora where most of the major megalithic sites of Portugal are near.
