XTC's Dave Gregory produced the track in June 1990. As "Colin's Hermits," Dave played all instruments under several listed aliases (See below). Released in 1996 on the "Without the Beatles" compilation album in Germany. See below for what appears on the notes from the LP: Technical Credits: Colin Midnite (vocals, tambourine) David Dreams (vocals, keyboards) Jet Pastorius (vocals, bass) Rex Rapier (vocals, guitar, radio operator) Bongo (drums) and The Proteus Orchestra Recorded June 1990 at The Living Room, Swindon, Wiltshire, England. Medium: 4-track analogue, TEAC A-3440, 1'5 IPS Mixed to DAT January 1996 Little has been seen of--or heard from--the Hermits since their 1985 cover of "Strawberry Fields Forever" (which featured a guest vocal appearance from Lord Andrew English). They apparently re-formed after witnessing Frank Zappa's group performing "Walrus" live on stage in Birmingham, England, in the early spring of 1988. Sufficiently inspired, they dug out their instruments and practiced every day for two years before committing their own version to tape. Legend has it that they were so disappointed with the result that they immediately split up, and vanished from the face of the earth! When the studio was sold in 1994, the tape was discovered in a plastic Iceland bag in a skip, from whence it was rescued and re-mixed especially for this project.
