Go check out my store(https://scrappylures.com/) In this episode, I am making a unique one of a kind bait called Whopper Plopper. If you’ve ever been fishing with a buzz bait and wished it didn’t sink so fast you need a Whopper Plopper. I am making this bait strictly out of recycled materials. The lead I use is from tire weights, the wood I use is from construction sites, the eyes are from old plastic sheets, and even the plopper blade is made from a bottle cap! It all starts by drawing out the shape and gluing it onto the scrap wood. From there we go to the saw and cut it out then we sand to make the edges smooth. After that we carve out the top profile and the edges and a few other steps and we’re ready for paint!! For the design I am going with a shad/baitfish pattern for the main body and a red plopper tail. Now that it's all done I am heading out to a lake in East Texas to try it out. And almost immediately after I casted, I caught a spotted bass and a longear sunfish. So two fish later it is safe to say that it works.
