However, he keeps hearing whispers in the dark, the voice of Spock. Spocks voice is trying to send him messages to reassure him. (Which is why most of the movie is in a Sepia Color-Sepia is the memories and messages from Spock) McCoy though is constantly haunted by Spocks death; the memories of it.
