Learning to start your own seeds can be a daunting and expensive endeavor, and knowing where to put your hard earned dollars to best use can tough. One of the most common pieces you’ll see in a common seed starting setup is a humidity dome, which effectively turns your little seed starting trays into mini greenhouses. They keep the top of your soil from drying out, and thereby help keep seeds moist but not overly wet. In today’s examples you can see the difference and speed-up in germination that it results in. While the difference of only a few days may seem small, it’s worth noting that I had to consistently moisten the non-domed seedlings, so that the top doesn’t dry out, and if I hadn’t done that the results would be much more drastic. So whether or not that extra ease is worth it to you is obviously subjective, but for sensitive seeds that need incredibly consistent moisture I think they’re worth having around as a core piece of seed starting equipment. #seedstarting #gardeningforbeginners #beginnergardener #beginnergardening #seedlings
