The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows: A foggy morning is observed over parts of the Overberg, Eastern Cape Province, and KwaZulu-Natal Province. As the day progresses, berg winds are expected to heat up the Western areas. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms may develop in the northeastern regions. The South African Weather Service has issued an impact-based warning: a Yellow Level 2 alert for severe thunderstorms that could result in heavy downpours causing localized flooding, particularly in susceptible areas of central and south-western Limpopo, as well as the northern Highveld of Mpumalanga. These storms may bring strong damaging winds, large amounts of small hail, and the potential for injuries due to lightning. Additionally, fire danger warnings are in effect, with extremely high fire risk anticipated in the central and north-western Northern Cape, extreme north-western Western Cape Province, and western Bushveld of Limpopo Province.
