To get the most out of your Honeywell Top Fill Console Humidifier HEV680/HEV685, follow these helpful steps. If you have questions, please reach out to our Consumer Relations team by emailing us at SocialSupport@helenoftroy.com. We are here to help! Make sure your humidifier is on a firm, level, water resistant surface, and at least twelve inches from the wall. Before using, lift the motor housing and remove the filter. Run the filter under cool water... then place it back in the base You can fill your humidifier's water tanks in one of two ways. To fill the water tanks without removing them, pour water through the cover opening. To remove the tanks and fill at a tub or sink, simply open the tank covers and grasp the handle. Carry the tank to the tub or sink and fill with cool tap water through the tank cover opening. Once the tanks are filled, place them back on the humidifier base. Plug in your humidifier. Turn the Power knob to your desired fan speed setting of high, medium or low. Turn the humidity control knob to the highest setting and let run for an hour or until a comfortable humidity level has been reached. Then turn the humidity knob to the left until the green Humidity Reached Indicator light turns on and the humidifier turns off. This is your desired humidity level. Once this has been set your humidifier will turn back on when the surrounding humidity drops below that level and turn off when it reaches that level again. To keep your humidifier running continuously, turn the humidity control knob to high. When both water tanks are empty, the orange refill light will turn on. If you're storing or not using the unit for long periods of time, empty the tank and reservoir and let them dry. This helps prevent bacteria and mold from building up inside the humidifier. You should change the filter every 30-60 days, or if it becomes hard and discolored. For more information on Honeywell Humidifiers visit honeywellpluggedin.com
