Solemne began in 2012 when friends came together to create new music for the revised English Translation of the Roman Missal. Since then, the choir has been using music as a channel to share the joy and love of Christ, and holds service at its core. Primarily serving in the Diocese of Cubao, Solemne has also been invited to aid various parishes in the Philippines with their fundraising projects, or to hold workshops for their parish music ministers. The diverse backgrounds of the members enable the choir to cover a wide variety of genres, from their original liturgical compositions, to take on pop, Broadway, and OPM, among others. Currently, the group has three albums, Misa Solemne, released in 2012, and two volumes from the Seasons series in 2014 and 2016, co-produced with the Jesuit Communications Foundation, and provides music ministers with new music based on liturgical texts for each season of the liturgical year. Singing as friends bound together by their desire to serve, Solemne aims to build a legacy of faithful worship, coloured by beautiful music, meaningful friendship, and joyful service under the aegis of the Almighty God. Solemne Music Director: Eugene C. Calimag SOLEMNE joins Hangad in celebrating their 30th Anniversary concert—HANGAD HABAMBUHAY—this coming October 9, Saturday, 7:30 PM on Facebook and YouTube. Both choirs offer this humble collaboration project to all choirs and music ministries everywhere. #hangad30 #hangad2021 #hangadhabambuhay -- "PAGKAKAIBIGAN" A Hangad-Solemne Virtual Choir Project Lyrics based on John 15 Music by Father Charlie Cenzon SJ and Father Bong Santos SJ Arrangement by Father Arnel dC Aquino and Paulo K Tiról
