Next-Gen Brain Pressure Monitoring: The project PI, Dr. Zartasha Mustansar, Head of Biomechanics lab, SINES NUST, investigated a groundbreaking approach for understanding and managing brain tumors. This study focuses on a revolutionary, non-invasive method to measure intracranial pressure (ICP), offering hope and precision in brain tumor treatment. The brain plays a crucial role in controlling and coordinating bodily functions. When affected by pathological conditions such as brain tumors, it can lead to severe impacts on brain physiology, including deformation and compression of brain tissue. Our research aims to construct a detailed storyboard illustrating how brain tumors disrupt cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow and increase ICP by compressing the brain's ventricles and parenchyma. Utilizing image-based finite elements, we simulate the deformation and compression caused by brain tumors to non-invasively calculate ICP.
