Hex Enduction Hour is a staple of the post-punk scene. It's an album full of intense, droning builds, and instrumentals that are as sloppy and loose as they are perfectly timed (in an oxymoronical kind of way). All this is topped by Mark E. Smith's rambling, which in a strange way exerts control and authority over the chaos of the guitar, bass, and drums. Overall, we still would have liked a little more variety and tightness from this album, but it's still a very good listen and a necessary experience if you want to understand the various music that it influenced years after and is still influencing today. What's your favorite album by the Fall? Does the instrumentation on this album ever rub you the wrong way? 76/100 http://www.velocitiesinmusic.com/the-... http://twitter.com/#!/vimtv http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Velo...
