Hey, everyone, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be showing you how to install the etrailer.com hub bearing kit for 3,500 pound axles. But before we get into that, let's take a minute, we'll check this out, and make sure it's gonna work with your setup. For those of you looking to, more or less, rebuild your hub and not replace the whole entire assembly, that's gonna be a great solution for you. All these parts are gonna be designed to rebuild one hub. So for single-axle trailer, you'll need two of these kits, tandem axle, you know, you're need four, so on and so forth. But it's gonna come with all these components. So you'll have your outer bearing, your inner bearing, the cups or races, you'll have your retainers here, and then a grease seal. So all the stuff that you need to get your hub like new again. Probably the most important thing when figuring out what bearings and everything that you need for your hubs is determining what axle you actually have, right So this is a 4, 3,500 pound axle for Lippert, Dexter, AL-KO. That's the axle we had on our trailer today, that AL-KO. And, you know, that's pretty much all the big names and an extremely common size. If you're unsure, one thing you can do is look under your trailer. Sometimes you'll have a tag on it, like this, and it's really difficult to see, but there'll be some letters stamped into it. Other times, it'll just be stamped directly in the axle tube, or some type of almost like a VIN plate on there, a sticker, something along those lines, right That can give you that information you need to figure out what you got. With that said, if you can't find any of that and you're unsure what you have exactly, there are several different measurements and things you can take. You can always check our webpages there to help give you that information to figure that out. Or you can, you know, start to take things apart and see what numbers and everything are actually stamped onto the back of your bearing and have a good cross reference there to make sure that these parts will work. As far as the bearings that come with this particular kit, the outer bearing, which is a smaller one here, that's gonna be an L44649 size. So really common. You know, these are gonna work with a number 84 spindle, which, you know, if you figure out the axle and it's correct and it matches up with these, then you're in good shape there. But as far as the inner bearing goes, the larger one there, that's gonna be an L68149. As far as some of the other components go, your grease seal is gonna be a 10-19. The inner cup, so the bigger one, that's gonna be an L68111. And for the outer cup, or the smaller race, that's gonna be an L44610. For the other two components, we'll get a cotter pin. If your axle has a castle nut, that's how ours is set up. And then you get one of these tang washers if you have the easy-lube type axles. So regardless on how it's set up, you'll have the parts that you need there. One thing I do wanna mention is that this kit doesn't come included with a new cap. So if that's something you want, you can always grab that separately. If you do have an easy-lube-type spindle or one with the greaser in there, you know, make sure to get the cap that has a removable plug, that we can pop that out and actually utilize that, be able to get your grease gun in there easy. That's all there is to this really, you know It's some pretty simple parts, but trailer maintenance is important, and it's good to do this type of thing. Now with that said, you know, you can get hubs that are already preassembled with new components. It makes installation a little more straightforward with everything put together, but, you know, that's entirely up to you, and what you're, what you're trying to accomplish. Now, with this setup too, it's extremely common. You know, there's a lot of trailers out there with that, you know, this type of axle and these type of parts. On ours, it's just an idler hub, you know, single-axle utility trailer. But, you know, I've seen these go in hub and drum assemblies. You know, maybe some disc brake assemblies and things like that too. So it's not just specifically for an idler hub, or hub and drum, and so on and so forth. So real common. Do your little bit of research to make sure that these parts are gonna work for you and it really shouldn't run into t
