Unicoi Lake Loop - Just outside of Helen, GA within Unicoi State Park Trail overview: Unicoi Lake Loop is a quick 2 miler with 131' of elevation gain. This is a nice quick hike around the lake and crossing the swim beach - we did not take our suits and had the pups so we did not jump in (this time) but next time we plan to as everyone seemed to be having a nice time. There is a quick section along the road at the top of the dam - just as an fyi. Along this walk you'll get to see one of the zip lines and a few of the cabins available to rent. This was a relatively flat and easy walk and a quick way to stretch our legs after 7 hours in the car with kids and dogs if you know what I mean. Unicoi State Park Overview: 1029 Acres including 12 miles of trails. 5 hiking trails with foot traffic only and 1 mountain bike trail. There are a variety of lodging options onsite via the resort lodge, RV, Tent, Cabin and glamping options. Anna Ruby Falls is located within the park and you can either park at the lot and walk up or hike there via the Smith Creek trail. On-site activities include but are not limited to: Hiking Swimming at the dedicated swim beach zip lining Fly fishing Archery Hatchet throwing Paddle boarding or Kayaking Mountain biking And so much more Unicoi State Park & Lodge is accessible year-round from 7 am to 10 pm. Vehicle Fees: All vehicles entering Unicoi State Park require a $5 GA State Park Pass or the $50 Annual Park Pass. If bringing your pup please note that Unicoi is pet friendly but please be courteous and clean up after your pet and they must remain on a leash.
