Thank you for watching! Hitomezashi is fun but it's not easy to draw a grid accurately. In this video, I will share how I draw it for different types of projects. From what I have seen, most Japanese Sashiko books use a 5mm grid. I have seen a 1cm grid as well. In an old sewing book, I have seen a 8mm grid for making a Zokin as well. In Japan, we don't normally use imperial units, but I have heard that some books in English have 1/4 inch. Also, I've read that experienced people in old times didn't even draw a grid. They just relied on their consistent stitches. I've also tried stitching without a grid in the past: • Видео Here is a playlist for Hitomezashi patterns: • Sashiko Hitomezashi You can also purchase some materials with small dots for Hitomezashi.
