Indo-Pak war 1965 was started on September 06, 1965. This war was fought between the two South Asian neighbours just after 18 years of independence of India and Pakistan from Empirial Britain. After independence India was divided between hindu majority India and muslim majority Pakistan. JammuAndKashmir territory with the muslim population and hindu ruler Maharaja Hari Singh came under the dispute between the two countries. Both India and Pakistan armed forces came across in October, 1947 just after the independence of Subcontinent in August. First Kashmir war was started here. Run Of kuchh dispute added the fuel more in 1965. In April 1965 Pakistan occupied Run of Kuchh and escalations arosed. In August same year, Pakistan plan to control its claimed part of Kashmir that India occupied in Oct, 1947. Hence, Ayyub Khan, The then President of Pakistan launches Operation Jibraltar in Jammu And Kashmir to infiltrate some 80,000 troops across LoC to move public to revolt against Indian oppression. Pakistani troops in the command of General Akhter Hussain reaches to Akhnur, Indian held Jammu And Kashmir. In response to Operation Jibraltar India plan to wage full war against Pakistan at international border of Punjab province. India attacked Pakistan on September 06, 1965. Sialkot and Lahore were the battlegrounds. After two weeks on September 22 United Nations Passes resolution to put ceasefire between the two. Later both countries withdraw their troops leaving international border as per decided in Tashkent pact signed by Pakistan president Ayyub Khan and Indian Prime Minister Laal Bhadur Shastri. #JammuAndKashmir #IndoPakWar1965 #OperationJibraltar #RunOfKuch
