Have you ever been curious about how Business Analysts operate across different industries? We're excited to launch "A Day in the Life of a BA". Each month, we invite passionate BA professionals to share real-world experiences, daily routines, challenges, and insights into their industry. 👉 For February, we are excited to welcome Debbie Clegg - a seasoned BA who will give us a practical look into the world of business analysis in E-Commerce. Debbie is a BCS Certified Senior Business Analyst with a diploma and 14 years of BA experience across multiple sectors. She thrives on solving complex problems, asking tough questions, and delivering user-centric, inventive solutions to create sizable business value. Debbie works at the heart of IT and business processes, guiding teams through the software development lifecycle. She provides product ownership for E2E digital features, boosting efficiency, quality, and innovation by delivering single-owner accountability from launch to handover, reducing waste and miscommunication, and enabling faster pivots. Debbie bridges the gap between business needs and technical solutions, providing analytical and critical thinking by deconstructing problems, identifying needs, and proposing solutions that drive strategic change to understand the current situation and future landscape. She is a business partner and accredited CX Champion, defining how the business delivers a superior and consistent customer journey by using feedback to generate actionable insights to improve processes, products, and service. This session will walk through a practical, end-to-end view of the E-commerce Business Analyst role. It will cover what makes E-commerce BA work uniquely, how a typical day flows, and how data, customer behaviour, and signals shape decisions. We will also touch on cross-functional collaboration, requirements and user stories, testing and validation, continuous improvement, and key e-commerce specialisms. The session will close with the skills needed to succeed in the role, a personal perspective on what makes the role rewarding, and an open Q&A and discussion. 💡 What you’ll learn: How to communicate value from sprint outcomes Tips and hints on the definition of sprint-ready Collaboration during feature development Writing User Stories Sharing artefacts.
