There were so many incredible moments to love at our recent Virtual 2021 Gala, but we simply cannot get over the spectacular way Julianna Padilla closed our show! You may recognize Julianna from the 16 years she has been performing at SAY or bravely sharing her story in the award-winning documentary 'My Beautiful Stutter'. She is a SAY and Camp SAY alum, a current Camp SAY counselor, an incredibly talented vocalist, and a person who stutters. 'Proud' does not begin to describe our deep and collective JOY to see Julianna pursuing her musical dreams at Berklee College of Music, and we applaud her courage for openly stuttering on her audition tape! In Julianna's own eloquent words, 'This is not only a win for me, but for the whole stuttering community. To the youth at SAY and all over the world who stutter, CHASE YOUR DREAMS! Regardless of how fluent you are or what you perceive yourself to be. YOU ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH.
