Now Meadowlark Hearth provides open pollinated seed on contract for varied midsize seed companies throughout the US as well as its own online distribution. Beth, returned to a western Nebraska fourth generation family farm and developed farm to have grass fed/finished dual purpose beef-dairy breed through a gifted herd which provides the components for our vegetable seed and vegetable and field fertility on 540 acres. The land will be donated into a protected 501c3 so that young people can carry on the farm and business and culture for agriculture (without having to work town jobs). More information about our partnership with NRCS: Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the South Dakota Specialty Producers Association (SDSPA) have formed a partnership to build the capacity of local partners’ knowledge to develop and implement effective strategies in supporting producers in the building of a sustainable local food system. The partnership will incorporate conservation and wise use and management of natural resources that are sustainable both for producers and the environment.
