Crude, simple and quick old school sampling method for short repetitive phrases we all love in ja-ja-jackin' acid house style and how to sync them up with simple analog trigger. 🟠 PART 2: • Lo-fi sampling 2 [] Using Roland TR-06 as ... 🟠 PART 3: • Lo-fi sampling 3 [] Using Roland TR-808 as... I've been using exclusively the 1986 Boss DSD-2 Digital Sampler/Delay pedals for years for their ability to record (very) short 0,8 second samples, which are being stored at quite low bit rate. The pedal takes in external trigger for synchronizing the sample, for example to a trigger from drum machine or to any trigger as long as it receives adequate peak voltage to trigger it. The sample is recorded into the pedal's memory by MANUALLY TURNING the REC/PLAY knob to PLAY ONLY position WHILE it's being synchronized TO trigger. Synchronizing makes it a lot easier to rhythmically time your samples to desired positions (say, on a drum machine) and see where you are. As the pedal is activated by the trigger, it's no different from programming a regular drum pattern on a regular TR-style drum machine. The DSD-2 has volatile memory. It means the sample will remain in the pedal's internal memory only as long as it is powered by 9V battery or external 9V power supply. There is no way to edit (aka "truncate" or other) your samples afterwards, but you can alter sample DURATION and PITCH by turning the TIME knob. With TIME knob turned fully clockwise it gives you the maximum sample time generous of 0,8 seconds (aka 800 milliseconds). My Bandcamp: https://bonelessoneacid.bandcamp.com/...
