He asked Him, "What good thing must I do to have eternal life?" Jesus looked at the young man with kindness. He said, "Follow the commandments. Love God and love others." The young man replied, "I have done all these things. What else do I need to do?" ## Jesus then said, "Sell everything you have. Give the money to the poor. Then come and follow me." The rich young man was very sad when he heard this. He loved his wealth too much to give it away. ## Jesus turned to his disciples and said, "It is very hard for a rich person to enter heaven. It is like trying to fit a camel through the eye of a needle." The disciples were amazed and confused. They asked, "Who then can be saved?" ## Jesus smiled and said, "With people, this is impossible. But with God, all things are possible." Peter, one of the disciples, said, "We have left everything to follow you. What will we get in return?" Jesus answered, "You will be with me forever."
