Zimbabwe muslim percentage at the moment is 1% which has almost double since I last checked many years ago... I embraced Islam after leaving my home country where I thought I had never heard of Islam. But looking back and having some flash backs, I remember seeing some girls in school uniform wearing white headscarfs. I remember asking my mum why they were wearing that but she did not now either. I also remember some Asian girls in high school who never participated in sport because it was said their religion did not permit, at that time, maybe Islam was vaguely mentioned but I am not sure. It was kind of hush hush so I really did not know what it was all about. Anyway fast forward many years later and I moved to England where after a few years I embraced Islam. (Long story) I remember coming back home after many years and it was around Eid time, I woke up also woke the kids to get ready to go to the mosque and our host says, you can't go, no place for women. The hosts wife said she had never been to the mosque and she is in her 70's 🥲 I never had the chance to visit any other mosque since then until now. This mosque featured in the video is the first mosque I have been in, in my home country since I became Muslim. I love the atmosphere, the eagerness to learn with limited resources, all for the sake of Allah. They hold classes for adults and children about Islam, Dawah, Quran, Islamic studies throughout the week and weekends and holidays. I am a Muslim convert doing my best to learn the Arabic language. I am going to document my journey. Feel free to join me on the journey to Arabic language fluency. Hopefully you will feel inspired to start learning. Even though learning the Arabic language is not compulsory for one to be a Muslim, I am learning it to have a better understanding of Islam and the Quran. #MuslimConvertLearningArabic. #ArabicForNonNative #ArabicForBeginners #ArabicAlphabetNoMusic
