The right of privacy is central to the freedom we have in the United States. Since 9 11 2001, it has been under attack by all the intelligence agencies of the United States government. The National Security Agency, CIA, FBI and DOJ have all been shown to be abusing the privacy rights of U. S. citizens and spying on them and their personal information. They justify their abuses by citing National Security Interests as their rationale for their abuses. Even when there is no real National Security Interest involved. These false justifications are clearly evident when the DOJ and FBI redact information from requested documents sought by Congressional oversight committees in order to avoid embarrassment of incompetence or corruption rather than a national security interest. The abuses to privacy rights will not stop unless the citizens of the United States demand that it stop. A first step in this process is to understand what your privacy rights are and how the federal government has placed limits on your privacy rights. The Fourth Amendment to the Constitution is the basis for your privacy rights.
