Overwhelmed by the vast options when it comes to choosing paper for watercolor painting? Hot pressed, cold pressed, pads, blocks, single sheets, different brands and weights. There are so many papers to choose from! The right paper is so important for watercolor painting. Low quality paper or paper that's not heavy enough will be frustrating to use and make learning how to paint much more difficult. In this video I share my favorite format for working with watercolor paper, the minimum weight I recommend and the best type of paper for beginners. I also demonstrate the differences between a number of popular brands in both hot pressed and cold pressed versions. Please note: I am not affiliated with any of the brands mentioned and all opinions are my own from years of painting experience.
