The half-hour black-and-white show had 78 episodes, including the pilot episode in which the character played by John Payne is named Britt Poinsett. This is the same name as James Stewart's character in the 1953–54 old-time radio series The Six Shooter, which was the basis for The Restless Gun television series. The official title of the Restless Gun theme song is "I Ride with the Wind."
