Unlocking LiDAR Data for Use In Public Work Projects

This webinar presents a lidar processing workflow developed to aid the efficient and effective use of the data. The toolbox, with an array of different geoprocessing tools, is architected in ArcGIS and was created to use the full five-foot per pixel lidar elevation model and follow guidelines required by different survey consultants. The result is that base studies that used to take days or weeks, now take under an hour, and at a sizable cost savings. In addition, the geoprocessing tools create good base elevation data, which allows survey teams to focus on trouble areas inherent in the lidar data, such as tree cover, or at the bottom of stream channels.
