Fridays @ One - Carlo Pantano, The Art and Science of Glass Carlo Pantano is distinguished professor of Materials Science and Engineering and director of the Materials Research Institute at Pennsylvania State University. He is an elected member of the World Academy of Ceramics and was twice honored by the Glass Art Society as the Labino Lecturer. In this illustrated lecture, Pantano explores the crossovers between art and science using glass as a case study. With historical and contemporary examples, he demonstrates that although artists and scientists have different missions, they have one trait in common: creativity.
