Good evening, everyone. My name is Kaleb Michael Garcia, and I’m honored to introduce our low brass octet tonight. Our group is made up of musicians from different sections and ensembles within our band program, each bringing unique skills and experiences. Despite our different backgrounds, we’ve come together over the past few months to prepare Cogworks by Seth E. Brown, a piece that showcases the precision, power, and energy of the low brass sound. Before we begin, I’d like to introduce the talented musicians performing with us tonight: Kaleb Garcia, Maximus Stratton, Bradley Gauthier, Ryler Sanchez, Johnathan Hawkins, Chloe Whitson, Wyatt Reed, Davis McDowell, Keegan Malone, Matthew Ellison, Trent Mata and Harrison Fissile. We’re also excited to feature our soloist, Maximus Stratton, whose incredible musicianship brings this piece to life. And a huge thank you to Bradley and Jill Nemergut for leading our rehearsals and helping shape this performance. We’ve spent approximately 6 months preparing Cogworks, and we’re thrilled to share it with you. We hope you enjoy!
