This video shows ALL the progress of the playthrough to complete the game for the FIRST TIME. See the complete list of games played and to be played: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/... Timestamps: 00:04:30 - Chicago 01:24:54 - Havana Comments: This was a game I completed in my childhood. As I had not completed Driver 1, so I thought that Driver 2 would be easier. Big mistake. I would say that Driver 1 only has the final mission as difficult, insanely more difficult than the rest of the game. I would say 5 stars of difficulty. Driver 2 has some missions 4 stars of difficulty, and again, has its own 5 star mission: "chase the gun man". The difficulty was high throughout the game. Right in the second city, Havana, I was already having problems in some stages. There are some very "appealing" ones. Like the one you have to chase a truck. Or destroy 4 cars one after the other. These are stages that depend on the luck of good RNG. And to be worse, I faced more lag problems than in Driver 1. In some parts I had to take the sound out to help a little to improve the emulation. Frustrating. As for game impressions, in general, the car seemed easier to control than in Driver 1. But the police hits seem to do more damage. In the other hand, you can change your car and avoid the police in the middle of the missions. It took me a while to realize this. I was saving the game, but when I had to change the discs, it crashed the emulator. And I didn't find the game saves. In fact, they didn't even get corrupted, I don't think they were even being saved. I should have suspected, from the shitty save screen that appeared in the game. To be able to continue, it took time. I only managed after reinstalling ePSXe outside the program folder (the saves from previous games were going to AppData, but with Driver 2 it didn't work), also was looking for an internet save with the game completed to be able to start from Vegas, and also look for another ROM that would not crash during the exchange of discs. After much insistence, I was able to continue. When I finished the game, I felt saturated with Driver. The "chase the gun man" mission brought back the frustration of Driver 1's last mission. The problem is a number of things: is it hitting the car hard or weak causing the same little damage; the gunman's car looks like a train when hitting you throwing you away, the traffic cars on the street get out of his way and close you, you keep hitting invisible edges, you can't reach his car easily ... and the lags, oh the lags. Simply the additional layer of difficulty that I have faced when playing both Driver. I got tired of hitting invisible edges so much, either when passing near poles, or when leaning against a wall and going with the car grating on the wall until I hit something invisible. I got tired of the bad emulation (mainly in Vegas and Rio) in which the city streets is exaggeratedly clear, having difficulty seeing the poles and the scenery a little ahead. I got tired of having to watch cutscenes from the beginning of the missions, after restarting, without being able to cancel them. Especially, the stage in Vegas of having to go to the airport was very annoying, always taking about 40 seconds of introduction to restart the stage. My final impression is that this game looked like an evolution of Driver 1, with the character's mobility (very shitty, but that allows you to change cars), bigger maps, more interesting animated cutscenes, selection of levels after completing (which was fundamental so I can play disc 2). The game still has secrets, which I haven't explored in this gameplay. Only the main menu that had a regression. The problem was again that the game presented a "ridiculous" mission, similar to the final of Driver 1, which was what made me gave 4 stars. I really wanted to give 4 stars again, for the irritation and programmed appeal of the game, but since I’m not going to play the Driver series anymore, I’ll end this subject by giving 5 stars. For the emulator, 1 star, because it helped me to be more disgusted with this game and waste more time. For now, no more PS1 emulation. #PS1 #PSX #PSONE #PLAYSTATION1 #PLAYSTATION #DRIVER #DRIVER2 #DRIVERTHEWHEELMANISBACK #RETROGAME #PLAYTHROUGH
