How To Lose A Bullfight

Every year the villagers in Peru's Sacred Valley hold an amateur bullfight. The bulls are far to valuable to put at risk - only the matadors get hurt. Anyone is welcome to test their courage. The rules are fairly easy, but there isn’t a lot of room to make mistakes. The local drunk has taken on the role of clown, though he’s quite capable of handling these sharp-horned beasts even though he can barely walk. Once the fight is over the animals are turned back to the fields and their owners head out to celebrate with friends and large helpings of chicha beer.
