Severe storms with strong winds and very heavy to locally intense rainfall have extended across South East Queensland this morning, with huge rainfall accumulations now building across a wide swathe of locations. Rainfall totals up to 400mm on top of what has already fallen can be expected for some of the southern suburbs around Brisbane, with exceedingly heavy rainfall also possible in the mountains to the north west of the city.
