Follow me and my dad as we experience the world of rock, blossoms and snow along the dramatic Minarets and visit the iconic sun soaked Banner Peak rising above the waters of Thousand Island Lake. There is limited dialog in this video. ABOUT THE HIKE In late July 2023 my dad and I hiked the Thousand Island Lake loop in the Ansel Adams Wilderness along the Ritter Range. Our route started at Agnew Meadows near Mammoth Lakes and we followed Shadow Creek up to Ediza Lake along roaring rivers as the snow and ice rapidly melted. From there we traveled by trail and cross country mostly along the John Muir Trail to Thousand Island Lake over several high passes and by many alpine lakes. We returned on the section of the Pacific Crest Trail where it follows the High Trail through miles of wildflowers. During our rest days, I would explore the more remote areas on day hikes.
