Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid foundation stones of 11 projects worth over Rs 31,500 crore. The projects include redevelopment of five stations in Tamil Nadu, including Chennai Egmore, Rameswaram, Madurai, Katpadi and Kanniyakumari. PM Modi began his address at Nehru Indoor Stadium by saying "It is always special to come to the state of Tamil Nadu. The land is a special one. The people, culture, language are all so good." Greeting Prime minister, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said Tamil Nadu was a state for inclusive growth, equality and women’s empowerment and called it a “Dravidian model.” MK Stalin also listed a set of key demands on behalf of the state including exemption from NEET and releasing pending GST dues.
