The IT industry is changing fast, and going into 2026 there’s a lot of uncertainty. I’ve been working in IT for 25 years, mostly in the end-user computing space, and this video is just me sharing some of the principles that have helped me stay relevant, keep learning, and build a long-term career. This isn’t about judging anyone or saying there’s only one “right” path. Everyone’s situation is different. In this completely unscripted video, I talk about: • Why effort and consistency still matter • How certifications can be used as a learning framework • Owning your career and your personal brand • Learning in public (blogs, videos, posts) • Why networking and visibility compound over time • The importance of work ethic and helping others • Moving into the “giving back” stage of your career If you’re early in your career, mid-career, or just feeling unsure about what to focus on next, I hope this gives you a few ideas or a bit of encouragement. Let me know in the comments what’s helped you over the years — or what you’re focusing on learning in 2026. Wishing everyone a successful and fulfilling year ahead. #techcareers #careergrowth #azure — Neil _____________ 📱 LET'S CONNECT IG: /virtualmanc Twitter: /virtualmanc Linkedin: /neilmcloughlin Email: [email protected]
